The following are some things a client should know about that will influence estimates and final costs:
Type of Work:
Simple tasks like painting touch-ups or assembling furniture typically cost less.
Specialized work, such as electrical or plumbing repairs, may require higher rates due to skill and licensing requirements when specialized subcontractors are used.
Scope and Complexity:
Larger or more complex projects generally cost more. For Example, repairing a deck or installing kitchen cabinetry involves more time and materials than fixing a leaky faucet.
Experience and Skill Level:
As a handymen with years of experience I may charge higher rates compared to those who are newer to the profession.
Location:
Living in a higher-cost area like Bozeman will often slightly increase rates compared to surrounding towns with lower costs of living.
Tools and Materials:
If I need to bring specialized tools or purchase materials for the job, these costs will be added to the overall price. As with all construction contractors, I need to calculate replacement costs into my pricing for many tools.
Urgency:
Same day or weekend requests may come with a higher charge, as you are paying for convenience. *This charge is suspended at this time.
Travel Distance:
If I need to travel a significant distance to your home, travel costs will be factored into the pricing.
