Custom Built Microwave Garage With Breadbox Gets Recessed Into Logs
This was a bit of a difficult install as far as how it was to be attached to the wall. The wall covering faux log slab would need to be carved out so that the unit appeared as though the logs were built around it. this meant that the unit would need to be slowly moved back as the logs were cut out so that the edges of the logs had furniture quality joinery to the unit. This was accomplished much fitting and chiseling to exact outlines marked on the logs.
The perfect cutting led to a strange occurence when the unit was inserted and removed- it created an audible whoosh of air. This turned out to be a very important feature mainly because there was on one spot in the outline of the unit where a fastener could be used to land on a stud. And that one fastener, believe it or not, turned out to be enough.
The built-in look is very nicely accomplished here.
